Antenna advice in NC
Hi, I'm looking for advice and recommendations on what antenna to purchase (best bang for the buck). I plan to ditch Direct TV and currently have a Direct TV dish mounted on the lower corner of my roof (1 story house). I was hoping to use that mast and existing cable for a quick and easy antenna installation. My other option is an attic installation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tv antennas and Tv reception
Your location has way too many easy to receive Tv stations , the transmissions are Strong. I recommend a Winegard HD7694P Tv antenna. Pointed at about 276 magnetic compass. DO NOT use any type or kind of preamp or amplifier. Mount the antenna in such a way that the antenna is clear of obstructions and the roof does not block Tv reception. Just my opinion... 8ball, the DB-4 is an excellent UHF only antenna. John & I are suggesting antennas that include both UHF and VHF coverage given the presence of real VHF channels 7,9 & 13. |
I just wanted to follow up and thank both of you for the great advice and steering me in the right direction. After comparing the antennas you recommended, I went with the RCA ANT 751 (mainly because of the smaller size) and pointed as John suggested. I can now receive the major network broadcasts (which was my goal) and more.
With this antenna coupled with my Roku, I now have plenty of cheap and free entertainment. I've already cancelled DirectTV and don't miss it at all. Thanks again! |
