Analysis of tony's house
 

Can anyone help me determine the type of antennae I would need. I live in farm country about 75 miles west of chicago il. I found the analysis confusing. Would a multidirectional antennae be a possibility? Since I have four televisions in my house would I need some type of amplifier before my splitter.

Looks like a nice list of networks and IND's in your report.

I would avoid an omni or multi directional antenna and use a fixed aim directional combination. I would aim the UHF at 73° true, the VHF at 198° true. Mount as high as possible.

I would choose a large UHF and separate VHF like the 91XG and YA 1713

I think that combination would give you the best chance at reliable reception of the stations in the top half of your report. I would try using a passive 4W splitter, two amplifiers in the same run often causes problems.

A multidirectional antenna would get only three stations.

The 91 XG and VHF antenna aimed as suggested leaves you with no CBS. I'd aim both at Chicago.

Here in Seattle CH 12 moved to a UHF... when I saw WBBM - 12 on the report I think my brain went 'oh that's UHF'.

I think there may be a good chance that WWTO - 10 will be strong enough to get into the back side of the high-band VHF if it's aimed at the Windy City. For sure, if the folks at Tonys' house want to see CBS, aim as you suggest Tower Guy.
