Newby needs all kinds of help :)

So happy to have found this site please help with your expert opinions all welcome :) Here is where I am;

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...67d9a0efbd6914

Any suggestions on what I need to do to get the best reception and most stations? Do I need a rotator to get the stations in the south compared to the north? Any help would be appreciated greatly. So tired of cable tv I cancelled 5 months ago.

Thanks very much.

Tv antennas and Tv reception

For the reception of the Canada tv digital stations/channels install a http://www.channelmasterstore.com CM3000A antenna above the roof. Here are some roof top antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com

For reception of these American digital stations/channels. WNLO-DT 32 The CW , WNED-DT 43 PBS , WUTV-DT 14 FOX. Install a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp aimed at about 118 degree magnetic compass. http://www.canadapost.ca/shopper. . The CM3000A for reception of the Canada tv stations and the HD7698P antenna with the AP8700 preamp for reception of the American stations , will be and are 2 separate antenna systems. Separate coax from each antenna will go to the location of the tv and the 2 separate systems coaxes will connect to a remote control A/B antenna switch. http://www.saveandreplay.com has the remote control A/B antenna switch. . Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Channel Master

Local place had a channel Master 4221 that I purchased. Put up on pole about 25' in air. Get 11 Canadian stations currently. I think I will now go purchase the one you recommended for the USA with the amp to help. I would like to get FOX for sure. Thanks,

Electron

Hi Electron, Thank you for your help so far. Does the signal map given take into account terrain? I know I am below the escartment in Hamilton which is about 150' tall I think. I am a fair distance from it. My map says I can receive the Buffalo stations and you mentioned with the larger antenna I should. Is this a fair assumption? I will go out and purchase if it is. I would love to get some USA stations from the New York area. The larger unit you recommended can I purchase a rotator for it that turns and has a memory that will stop at certain areas if pre-set? I am so excited this works I will be a follower of this site and tell everyone about it. THANKS!

15!

I now get 15 stations with the 4221 I think it is called. Should I purchase the 3000A instead and take the 4221 down? Will I get more with the 3000A from all directions? I put an amplifier in the line as well and got 29-1 and 29-2 which is FOX 29 and the country music station.

Will the Wineguard pick up more of the distance USA stations? Thanks again told 10 people about it so far.

Tv antennas and Tv reception

The HD7698P antenna is Big antenna that will 'reach out' for low signal strength weak tv stations/channels. WIVB-DT 39 CBS , WNYB-DT 26 IND. , WKBW-DT 38 ABC are weak stations in the gray reception zone of the tvfool radar map. I can not say that the HD7698P antenna and AP8700 preamp will receive them reliably , however the HD7698P antenna will 'reach out' for them.
