New Antenna advise needed please

Have a two story house and would like to place the antenna in the attic. There is limited space though so a long boom will not work.
If I need a long boom and mount it on the roof should I put in a rotor?

What about reaching stations to the far south of me if it is external and I use a rotor? Is it possible?
What would you recommend for a new antenna? I plan to split to 4-5 TVs

No cavets or complications with this recommendation. . Install a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP8275 preamp , with a 4 to 5 tv hookup. If there is no advantage to mounting higher, I'd opt for the dual antenna system, possibly using an Antennas Direct XG91 instead of the panel style antenna.
