Antenna recomendation for 48092
Hi,
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...3e47c220432833 From that report I am getting: 2.1,4.1,7.1,20.1,50.1,23.1,38.1,56.1,62.1 All the channels look good except 2.1, 50.1. Sometimes when I receive them they are nice and clear, but for the most of the time I can't receive them. I have Philips SDW2940 UHF antenna mounted on the roof of a two story condo. Around 75 feet of coax cable is connecting antenna with Sony Bravia TV and HTCP with Hauppauge TV tuner. I am also using some cheep amplifier from Walmart. There is no any big trees or buildings around to block the reception. Coax. cable might be old and there is few connections on it (it's connected from multiple pieces). So, I am looking to improve reception on existing channels and possibly add some more. Thank you for your help. |

How many Tv's are/will be connected??

I'm concerned that you are using at least one, if not two too many amplifiers. A small non-amplified antenna such as the RCA ANT-751 should be able to drive a couple of tuners... A premium solution would be a Winegard HD7694P, with no amplifiers.
An aim point of about 240° would be the place to start from to begin final aim optimization. |

Replace the outside coax cable with all new RG-6 coax. If a coax grounding block is connected , replace it also , if there are splitters outside replace them. You need to get the signal to the Tv , not be stopped by bad hard ware , bad connections , bad coax. Using amplifiers to Ram the signal through , bad hardware , bad connections , bad coax , is not the correct way to do it.

I also recommend a Winegard HD7694P antenna aimed at 240 degree magnetic compass. The Tv transmissions are Very Strong , Do Not use any type or kind antenna amplifier , No preamp , No distribution amp , No type or kind , No power supplies of any type or kind amplifier. None

Winegard HD7694P looks nice, but could I get away with RCA ANT751 or Channel Master 2016 instead. Only reason I am looking at these two is that I don't want to buy a chimney mount and a mast. I could install them onto existing satellite dish mount.
Is there anything special I should worry about when buying coax cable, because there is so many different ones? Thank you. |

Dish mounts are often mounted at odd angles making it impossible to mount a Tv antenna level with the ground. Tv antennas can not be aimed up at the sky , aimed pointed at the ground or twisted at odd angles. Dish mounts are often mounted down low and in places where Tv antennas can not get reception.

I do not recommend getting away with any thing , however yes you can try the ANT751 or CM2016.

Plain RG-6 / RG-6U will be fine.
