Hi everyone,

I've been doing research on antennae, and I'm still lost.

I'm on the second floor of a two-story apartment. My front door and only window faces east. I mostly want to receive the major networks - primarily, ABC.

Here's my TV Fool report. http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d9900e6a232e8ed

I'm a little concerned about my ability to use/connect an outdoor antenna. So, if that's my best option, I'd appreciate any pointers there.

Thank you so much for any suggestions and for your time.

Generally an antenna mounted outside in the clear is able to perform far better than the same antenna inside a building. But often an indoor antenna can make do.

You may want to consider using an antenna designed for outdoor installation.

The Antennas direct SR15 and Channel Master CM3022 come to mind. Both are just under 3' long and may find a happy home on top of a book case pointing south and a bit west.

This would not give you every available signal... to accomplish that would call for outdoor mounting and different antenna choice(s).

Your Tv stations are the Other direction.

To the , north west , west , south.

Most apartment buildings have small satellite dishes on the outside.

Here is a Tv antenna that is made to - Look Like - a small satellite dish on purpose.

Antenna Craft HDX1000. http://www.antennacraft.net , http://www.antennacraft.net/Manuals/HDX1000_manual.pdf.

The small satellite dishes are mounted so the dishes are aimed to the , south , south west , south east.

Because your Tv stations are to the , north west , west and south .

The HDX1000 will be mounted outside the building so the HDX1000 can be aimed to the west and south.

That means the HDX1000 will be Up High outside of the building toward the west and south or even on top of the building.

Aim the HDX1000 at about 230 degree magnetic compass.

The Tv/s Must channel scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do Not channel scan for cable tv channels.
