Hello!

I am looking for some help interpreting my TV Fool report:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d81a345eb698198

I would like to discontinue my cable TV service and try an antenna/Netflix combo. My household won't be happy with this switch unless I can receive all the networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, and FOX) with the antenna. Of the available networks, I would prefer to receive WWNY (CBS) and WPBS. I don't know if it's worth trying to receive WWNY, since it's the only VHF channel I'd be likely to receive.

I can mount an antenna on the west side of my house, at the peak, 25-30' above ground surface. To the east/south-east, approximately 30' away, is a large maple tree. There are no obstructions in any other direction.

So, I'm looking for help with the report to determine if I'm likely to receive all the networks. Am I right that the channels in green/yellow will be fairly easy to receive?

Also, can anyone offer me advice or recommendations on equipment to try? Of course, I'd like to keep everything as simple as possible. I am fairly handy, so I will install this myself.

Thanks very much in advance...I really appreciate any advice!

So, I'm looking for help with the report to determine if I'm likely to receive all the networks.

Yes, all the networks can be received from Syracuse. It's easy to add WWNY using a second antenna without the complication of a rotor. WPBS will need a rotor or a third antenna and a filter/joiner.

I'd consider a 4 bay UHF for Syracuse and a Y10-7-13 for WWNY. Add them together with a UVSJ. If you split to multiple TV sets, use an AP-2870 preamp instead of the UVSJ.

I recommend a XG91 UHF antenna pointed south and a HD7695P pointed north east. With a remote control A/B switch at each tv location. And you can experiment with a HD7084P pointed at the Canada stations. http://www.digitalhome.ca , http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/home-accueil.htm , http://www.tvtechnology.com/article/105462 , http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=30998
