OTA lanaudiere signal strength reduced

Hello,

My Father is the Lanaudiere region. I set him up for DTV last year but a few weeks
back the signal was apparently reduced in strength.

This is close to Rawdon, ST Alphonse Rodriguez, Chertsey

Is it possible signal strength has been reduced or the antenna relocated?

I tried 2 converters that worked there previously. I tried 2 antenna amplifiers.
One decoder shows weak signal for stations i had previously. I loose signal
if i disconnect the amplifier or the antenna. A small antenna instead of the roof
one gives no signal either. This indicate amplifier and antenna are still functionnal.
It could be a bad connection somewhere.

My father will not pay for pay tv at his chalet.

This seem normal to me. Around -65 to -90 db for channels my father is
interested in. What is considered acceptable signal for a digital-analog
converter (Insigna)? Maybe the antena. is damaged. It is about 30ft
above ground level but there are some hills in the area. I tried 2 amplifiers,
2 converters.

Do you see physical damage to the antenna? If so, your skills and ability will determine whether you need to replace the antenna or improvise a repair.

Water may have gotten into a connector and then the coax. The matching transformer is also subject to moisture damage. Connections exposed to the weather need to be sealed before water gets in. Once there is water in the coax, the only practical solution is to replace it. Make the antenna height 25 or 30 feet.
