Trees, distance and hills. That is as tough as it gets, so you need as much UHF power as you can get.

Use a Channel Master 4228 HD and a channel Master 7777 pre amp.

The Tv/s Must scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna too the receiving antenna.

DO NOT scan for cable tv channels.

It is best to clear the trees for better reception.

If you use a tripod mount (recommended) you can set it up loosly (on a calm day) on the roof and try moving it along ther peak of your roof to find the best location, if needed.

It seems to have more VHF range, though slightly less reported UHF range than my presently owned DB4e : https://www.antennasdirect.com/store/DB4e.html
It looks more impressive, I'll admit that. Those tripods look nice but I don't think I could get by one with my landlord.
Per my other post I have a similar "tree issue" & I'm going from a brick wall/outside window mount to a roof/chimney mount with the DB4e + the C2 VHF Reflector & CPA-19 Pre-Amp at about 35-40' from the ground with rotor. It's not going to clear "all" the trees by far but I'm hoping for some improvement, hopefully enough to justify the cost of install & parts. I will find out on Wednesday, fingers crossed.

Hmmm, the Lacrosse http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882790009 doesn't look anything at all like DB8 which does indeed resemble the 4228 with a slightly different reflector scheme, I have no bias either way, but you obviously do, I was just making an observation.
That being said, in the novice opinion of a 49 year old man who used to tinker with Channel Master UHF antennas as a youth in the 70's lol, I think the DB4e is decent antenna that would perform much better in a more ideal environment, unfortunately I don't live there. I'm pretty sure the 4228 would be subject to the same limitations in this situation, but if you want to send me one I'll be glad to test that theory 1st hand. :D
