A Pre-amp that will ignore super strong signals

Hey All,
Where I live I have two very strong signals behind me and if I try to use a pre-amp to get some farther away stations, they overwhelm me. Is there a filter or a Pre-amp that will ignore such strong signals? It totally messes up my 8bay antenna and will cause it to really only pickup from the back. Which it shouldn't...any ideas would be great...thanks rhw

This is a common problem and sometimes prohibits the use of a needed amplifier. I usually install a rotor in these systems. That allows you to peak these weak channels, and you can move the antenna off a bit on the stronger channels. eliminating the overload. This is a little known advantage of using a rotor that works everytime.

Preamp, no; filter, yes. CE7W tuned to channels 31 and 32.

Another option is an antenna array that nulls 288 degrees when aimed at the station that you want.

The plan works off the back as well as the front of the antenna. If you want to view a station at 140 degrees, use two UHF antennas stacked 20" apart. I've done this with a pair of C-2 antennas, but any 2 or 4 bay models would work.
