I am new to this website so if I make some mistakes, please excuse me.
I live in the remote NE area of Georgia and I would like to improve my over the air TV reception. My elevation is roughly 2,200 feet in a heavily wooded area.
I currently receive one channel, 11.1, on a sporadic basis.
I did a map scan, http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d7fcfa5bda0adbf.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ol' Bill

I see a previous earlyer post , the reception is a lot better at that location then this different location. Are these supposed to be the same location??

The current location was established with GPS and is correct.
The previous (first) location was generated by address and was off quite a bit. This location in North Georgia is under mapped and under addressed.

GPS and Latitude/Longitude are Not the same. Tvfool uses Latitude/Longitude. Here is one of many converters on the internet , http://www.csgnetwork.com/gpscoordconv.html.. However the best to do is go to the >>Start MAPS<< part of tvfool on the home page , move the pointer to your exact location , make the antenna height 25 feet and make a tvfool radar map.

No, GPS coordinates are indeed latitude and longitude coordinates.

The difficulty is two-fold:

1) Lat/lon may be displayed in several different formats and GPS units aren't always consistent in how the manufacturers display the units. Some will use the format of degrees, minutes, and decimal seconds, others will use the format of degrees, and decimal minutes (the most common), and others will use the decimal-only format of dd.ddd.

2) TVFool's coordinate input service allows only the latter although google's mapping software, the underlying engine for display of the location, allows all three formats. I suggested to the admin quite a while back to open up the entry formats, but it remains the same.

Bottom line is that if the data is obtained in a format other than the dd.ddd format, it must be converted to that format for direct input into TVFool. Regardless of the presentation format, it's still latitude/longitude.

GPS position was converted from degrees, minutes and seconds to decimal only format and then verified by on ground measurement.

With the tvfool radar report of 18 feet antenna height this is what will be received. ION , PBS , Religion , Ind. Make tvfool radar reports at , 25 feet , 40 feet , 60 feet , 100 feet. Higher antenna height might get more tv stations.

I believe I made a mistake in converting GPS to decimal degrees.
This is a new map with a 25 foot antenna, using the new position. This is as high as I want to go.
Thanks for your help.

The Pending Applications Included of the tvfool radar report is showing all receivable channels as UHF channels. Install a Winegard HD9095P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp above the roof aimed at about 245 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com. Buy the ronard antenna mounts from solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard. Here are places to by antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The Tv/s Must Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Antenna Channels' or 'Air Channels' in the Tv menu because the television transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to your receiving antenna. DO NOT scan for cable tv channels.

You can also check your location by going to the >>Start MAPS<< part of tvfool and move the pointer to the exact location and make the antenna height 25 feet.
