This is my profile. I am almost completely ignorant on this topic.
I am wanting to cut cable all together. I have individual cable runs to each room 2 primary televisions and one outside television.
I am looking for suggestions on antenna's that would be suitable for my situation. I prefer an attic installation over outdoor if at all possible.
Also mainly looking to just get the ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox
After reading a few other post I will add that my house is wood frame construction and asphalt shingles. I do have this insulating board that is install that has a shiny foil like backing. I don't remember the name. Ill have to go look
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The Tv transmissions are moderate to strong of signal strength. A simple reception situation. If the building is wood frame with wood or vinyl siding and standard composition shingles , then install a Winegard HD7696P antenna in the attic aimed at about 160 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://WWW.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. If there is room to move around in the attic. The antenna can hang in the attic from thick strong string or cord. Or hang a pipe from the rafters. Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com

Finally got around to installing antenna in attic. Trying a CS4 but I am having significant artifacts on WAPT UHF 21 (16.1). All other channels seem fine. Any suggestions?

Foil faced insulation will cause quite a bit of signal reflection. Is the insulating board on the underside of the roof deck or on the attic floor?
Have you tried various locations in the attic? Have you experimented with aim?
How is reception of WJTV, real CH-12?

Foil is on the underside of roof deck (visible while in the attic looking towards roof)
WJTV 12 is fine, since my post I have changed the position slightly and re-scanned the channels. 16 is better now, only having the occasional artifact.
Unless there is something I can do, other than move my antenna outside, I think I will leave the antenna alone.
Now I have to figure out the best way to get the signal to 3 tv's.

Given the foil... you're doing quite well.
Splitting to three sets, http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical-Home-Entertainment-Audio-Video-Accessories-Adapters-Splitters-Distribution-Amplifiers-Splitters/h_d1/N-c21lZ5yc1vZ1z10pyo/R-202276260/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051
Use the low loss port for the longest cable run.

I see that your location has receivable Tv stations/channels in the , VHF band channels 7 thru 13 and UHF band channels 14 thru 51.
I see that a HD7696P antenna is recommended that receives channels 7 thru 51.
And the recommend aim direction is 160 degree magnetic compass.
I see that you installed a CS4 , UHF channels 14 thru 51 , antenna.
I see that there is Metal backed insulation in the attic on the underside of the roof , this puts the metal backed insulation in the way of reception.
Reception will be improved by mounting the HD7696P antenna Above the roof in such a manner the HD7696P antenna is Above the roof so that the roof is not blocking reception.
Here are some Above the roof antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/3442560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.
Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.
Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.
As always the starting antenna aim direction is the --> starting aim direction.
The antenna is then turned to find the direction that produces the best reception.
