looking for UHF-only antenna recommendation for Lunenburg, MA

Hello,

I'm currently considering either an Antennas Direct DB8 bowtie antenna or a Clearstream4 bowtie antenna to receive UHF-only stations 30 miles away. Will mount on gable perhaps 20' off of ground. Total length of line is 125-160 feet plus one splitter. All stations that I care to receive are in one direction only (all within 2 degrees of one another)! Weakest powered station that I need to receive is -69dBm. Not line-of-sight, but no major hills or impediments, only some trees. Here's the info for my house:

Thanks for your antenna recommendation! OK, is this antenna likely to work in the attic? We have a wood structure, I believe that there is only plywood and shingles, and the house is sided with vinyl.

Also, if the antenna is in the attic, the total length of wiring would be 80' plus a single splitter, if mounted outside (8 dB loss), the total length would be 125' plus a splitter (10 dB loss). I presume that an amp is required. Recommendation?

You said you would mount on the gable outside. For roof top antenna mounted above the roof outside such as a Winegard HD9095P antenna , Antennas Direct 91XG antenna or Antennas Direct DB4e antenna. A amplifier will not be needed. And you will receive all the channels down the list to at least WFXT-DT 31 Fox. With one of the above antennas installed in the attic , a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp will be used. Most attics have electric power , so install the preamp and preamp power supply in the attic. With one of the above antennas and preamp in the attic you will receive down the list to at least WFXT.

If a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a CPA-19 preamp is mounted above the roof then , WNAC-DT 12 FOX , WPRI-TV 13 CBS , WMUR-TV 9 ABC will also be received.

Thanks for you knowledgeable recommendations! I'll try the attic route as a simpler 1st choice, but I do have the gable option available if that doesn't provide a satisfactory signal. Take care!

I installed the Winegard 9095P and the CPA-19 preamp in the attic. Bingo! Works perfect! Picking up all stations down to WFXT-DT 31 Fox as you said. We have a few deciduous trees outside of the attic without their leaves yet, but I suspect that it'll make little difference in reception. Say goodbye to the DISH network. Thanks for the report of the excellent reception. To experiment with reception of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WNAC-TV and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WPRI-TV in the attic. If at some time in the future you will like to put a Winegard YA1713 antenna in the attic aimed at about 171 degree magnetic compass , the HD9095 and YA1713 can be combined with a UVSJ = UHF/VHF Separator/Joiner , the output of the UVSJ is connected to the input of the CPA-19 preamp.
