Hi. I live on the 27th floor of a concrete apartment building in downtown Detroit. I get most of the local DTV channels but am wondering why I don't get any of the Windsor, Ontario channels? I just recently bought a Winegard SS-3000 Amplified Low Profile Indoor Antenna, and like I said, I get the US channels that I want. I even get a Canadian channel 70 miles away. I just don't get the Canadian channels 5 miles away. And I'm clueless about pointing the antenna, if it's even the right one given where I live. So I appreciate what advice you can offer.

If you're in a concrete and steel structure, you pretty much need a window that faces the signal so as to allow the signal in. If you're on the "wrong" side of the building, you're usually out of luck unless you can catch a signal reflected off some favorably-located building or hill. Your Detroit stations transmit from the Southfield area.
The other (slight) possibility is that the internal amp in the SS3000 is overloading the tuner on only the strong signals. You may wish to try an un-amplified antenna.

Do what the other question askers do and Do This-> http://forum.tvfool.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Use the exact address to make the tvfool report. Make the antenna height 300 feet.
