Finally cut the cable and have been reading reviews of antennas, now I am more confused than ever. Looking for an indoor antenna.

Here is my location: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d0b8683c42d9c82

I only have 1 TV so no splitters or anything fancy involved. I'm behind lots of tall buildings and no clear sight line to the antenna farm which is due north of my location about 7 miles. Would need to pick up both UHF and VHF if possible. Wouldn't hurt if the antenna was good looking as it will be visible. Also should I get an amplified one?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm enjoying reading this forum but now have more questions than answers...

A highly directional antenna is what is needed. http://www.winegarddirect.com,HD7210P antenna. Mounting on the roof , patio or balcony is recommend. Try for a best aim at the tv transmitters. However with your reception situation a good steady reflected signal is your friend. Aim the antenna at other buildings and structures around you. Point the antenna up and point the antenna down and can even tilt the antenna left and right. Here are pictures of the front of the antenna the front of the antenna is what is aimed. http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

Do Not use a antenna amplifier of any type or kind. The tv transmissions are very strong and will overload a antenna amplifier and be the cause of bad reception or no reception.
