Cable will be officially disconnected on 2/17. Here's my report:

I'm roughly equidistant to Louisville and Lexington, but in opposite directions. Prefer to have access to both, but realize I'll probably have to choose one and hope the other comes in. If so, then I'll point to Lexington (Go Cats:)), rather than Louisville (filthy Cards:mad:).

I would prefer an attic antenna, again realizing I'm probably at the outside limit for this. I live in a 1.5 story house, wood frame/vinyl siding, asphalt shingle roof. Attic installed would be 20 feet high. There are two story houses across the street, in the general direction of the Lexington market. A neighboring 1.5 story house and large tree in the general direction of the Louisville market.

I'll likely hook up 4 TV's. Any and all help is appreciated.

That's right.

For attic mount and both cities, you will want two antennas aimed in different directions. The one aimed at 333 degrees should be VHF/UHF such as the HD7698P. An antenna aimed at 69 degrees can be UHF only. The AP8700 preamp is a good choice, one for each antenna.

For reception of the digital tv stations/channels to the north west , aim a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Winegard AP8700 preamp at about 325 degree magnetic compass. . For reception of the digital tv stations/channels to the north east , aim a Winegard HD9095 UHF antenna at about 70 degree magnetic compass. Also aim a Winegard YA6260 antenna at W06AY-D channel 6 , at about 178 degree magnetic compass. The HD9095 and YA6260 are connected together with a Winegard AP2870 preamp. All antennas are mounted above the roof. The HD7698P and AP8700 preamp is one antenna system and the coax goes to the location of the tv and is connected to one input of a Radio Shack # 15-1968 remote control A/B antenna switch. http://www.radioshack.com

The HD9095 antenna and YA6260 antenna with the AP2870 preamp connected to both antennas make a second antenna system and the coax goes to the location of the tv and is connected to the other input of the 15-1968 A/B antenna switch. The output of the 15-1968 A/B antenna switch is connected to the tv.

Thanks for your replies. Looks like I have some homework to do.

Also, to the mods, sorry for the double posted thread. I should take the time to read instructions, I guess. That weakness may not bode well for my antenna setup.:)

WBKI-DT 19 CW , is a very strong signal and will be received by both the HD9095 and the HD7698P antennas.
