What would the best HDTV antenna be for my location at 820 Lake View Drive in Osceola, Iowa 50213? We will have one TV receiving the signal and possibly another in the future. I’m in a rural area 40 to 66 miles from the nearest transmitters to my North. I know it has to be an outside roof mount directional but I’m not real crazy about having a 12-foot to 15-foot long antenna on my roof.
Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated.

Install a Winegard HD8200U antenna on the roof with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 7 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html . Here are some Strong and Sturdy antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html. Here are places to buy antenna and etc. , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com

I corrected the mileage to transmitters. Does this make a difference? I sure hope so because I don't want a 14 foot long antenna on my roof. What about the HD Stacker antenna?
Thanks for your help.

Still the same , You can also install a HD7084P antenna if you like. Your location has WOI-DT digital channel 5 ABC and it is a weak transmission. This means a antenna with big long metal receiving elements. The HD Stacker does not have the long elements to receive channel 5. All of the tv stations/channels are weak at your location. There is also WOI-DT UHF channel 50 , however it is very weak. A HD7698P antenna can be installed with a CPA-19 preamp. The HD7698P receives channels 7 thru 13 and 14 thru 69 , but not the channels of 2 thru 6. I can not say that WOI channel 50 will have reliable reception all the time. The HD7084P and the HD8200U will receive channel 50 and channel 5. You can try the HD Stacker with a CPA-19 preamp , if it does not receive channel 50 reliably then return it.
