What Equipment Needed?

I am trying to figure out what kind/brand/model of antenna (probably outdoor) and/or other things I will need given this http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d0b865c68603611

I anticipate mounting something on an existing rooftop satellite dish set up. Anything fit the bill? Also, can I use all of the existing coax from the satellite?

Make 2 more tvfool radar reports , one at 40 feet and one at 60 feet. The tv stations are weak at your location. A Winegerd HD7698P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp aimed at 145 degree magnetic compass , will likely get you all the networks , lets see how much signal strengths go up with higher antenna.

Also, I get the fox and nbc channels with a $25 indoor antenna, but they are spotty. We just moved into that area. My in-laws live 1/4 mile away (a little higher ground) have an old-school big antenna mounted at ~6ft and get all of the big networks plus PBS.

Raising the antenna height did not bring any VHF high band channels into reception range , so all the receivable channels are UHF channels. I recommend mounting a antenna as close to 40 feet as possible. And higher would be good. So install a Antennas Direct 91XG antenna with a Antennas Direct PA-18 preamp. Aimed at about 145 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. If you do not already have a way to get the antenna up high. Then install a http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html on the roof. If mounted on the roof of a one story house , this will get the antenna up to about 35 feet. Be careful up on the roof , falling off the roof is real close to zero fun. Big antennas are not "old school" , big antennas are recommended every day and night here at tvfool. Why?? Because Big antennas receive weak tv signals. Small antennas do not.
