I have a HD antenna Orca digital HD AX- 909. I have mounted it ten feet above street Level pointing SW toward the TV towers. They are 25 miles to 35 miles away from me. The TV signal analysis says I should get 7 of the stations with an indoor set top antenna. This antenna is top of line with a reception range of 150 miles but I cannot get even the slightest picture. Help please

Might want to post the link to your report. That way the guru's here can help you best. And, well, 150 miles, don't believe everything you read. I doubt there's any standard as to test conditions.

I simply don't believe the ad claim of 150 mile reception can be supported by any trustworthy data or RF propagation theory. I suspect that many of the 'reviews' found on line are fictitious, planted by the people trying to peddle an inferior product at an inflated price. I would never recommend this antenna to you or anyone else.

Please review the Guidelines when asking for help (http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=4). We can help you choose an antenna if you'll post a link to your TV Fool Report.

Most new TV's with digital tuners ship with the tuner set to receive "Cable" formatted signals. Have you verified that the TV tuner has been configured to "Air" or "Antenna" mode?

The antenna scams are -> Full On <-> here in the USA and Canada. The advisors here at tvfool will not recommend scam antennas. . As a test , at a swap meet , I put out a scam antenna and a real antenna buy Winegard. The people were drawn to the scam antenna like iron to a magnet and would only give a brief look at the real antenna.

The scammers know that we are now past 2 generations , from a time when the only way to receive tv was with a antenna and , Winegard , Channel Master , Antenna Craft , were house hold names. And many people had a basic working knowledge and could buy and install and aim a tv antenna in the correct direction.

i DON'T know how to post a link to my report. I guess I got scammed I tried several times to contact the support for the antenna but the phone number given on the web site says the mail box is full and I can't leave a message. I tried contacting the Panasonic support and the tried to help me but could not. So if I can find the address I am going to send the antenna back. I hope I can get credit for it. Thanks

I spoke with a TV repair man in this area and he said that the entire Valley He said Valley AL was in low spot for TV reception. He said I would need the Strongest antenna Chanel master made which is about 11 feet long and mounted at lest 30ft high if not more. He has been doing TV and antenna installation in my area for 40 years. I live about a mile from the Chattahoochee river. My address is #############,Valley AL,36854
Thanks,Alan

With due respect to the TV repairman and their local knowledge, I don't believe a large antenna is needed at your specific location.

If I were in your situation, I'd roof mount a UHF 4-bay panel antenna such as the DB4e, U4000, HD4400 or CM-4221. Aimed at about 150°.

I would add a second antenna, a high-VHF such as a Y5713. Aimed the opposite direction, about 327°.

This combination would not need any amplifier while being able to supply signal to as many as four sets. You would expect to see ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC and PBS.

All the tv stations I listed , except wqmk , Are LOS = Line Of Sight , Line of sight to the transmitters means nothing blocking the signals , very good.
