HI! i need to know what kind of reception folks get in the victorville apple valley area of the high desert in southern california? i use to be able to watch tv off the translator for uhf channels ,but i had been using directv, now i'm curious since the digital transition did they ever upgrade the system for digital channels? is it possible to receive HD channels from los angeles with a VHF antenna? thanks for any help you can give me!:confused:

You have a number of translator stations in Victorville that rebroadcast the Los Angeles and San Bernadino stations, but, for the moment, that are all on UHF and in analog. I wouldn't expect that you'll be able to see Los angeles stations directly in your location because of the mountains that block the signals from Mt. Wilson in LA

We'll need to see a tvfool signal analysis for your exact location to get a better idea of what signals are available to you. The link in John Candle's post can help get you started.

Without the report, we cannot tell which signals are reaching you and how strong they are.
