Looking for the correct antenna

Hi,

I have completed a report about what channels I may be able to get and depending on what I can get OTA, I may get rid of my cable. I would prefer a fixed mount antenna if possible. In my area there are some hills and many trees that may affect reception.

Could someone help me by recommending an antenna.

August 31 , 2011 was the 'main' analog to digital transition date for Canada. Tvfool is currently being up dated to show the new digital and analog channels in Canada. Canada will have a mix of digital and analog channels for a long time in to the future. And analog channels will be changing to digital channels as time goes along. For your location I recommend a Channel Master CM3679 antenna mounted on a Channel Master CM9521A rotor , the current and pending applications list shows analog and digital channels all around the compass. The rotor will allow you to turn the antenna to find and watch tv stations. I recommend print out the current and pending applications list so you will more easyly know when tvfool is updated for your location. Thanks for the information. The stations in Canada have switched over to digital. The CM3679 is quite big. Would I have any luck with the Antennacraft HBU22?

Hi John, if I went to a only one TV, could I use a smaller antenna. The one that you mentioned is really big.

It is not a situation of the number of tv's that is a factor of antenna selection at your location. It is receiving the tv stations that can be received. Use what ever antenna you choose to use. Any antenna will get you some stations. My suggestion/recommendation is to cover all the bases. However like I say , please use any antenna you choose. And please seek other advice.
