In the US and Canada, TV stations broadcast their digital programming on a subset of the same channels that the used to broadcast their analog programming. I am from a very rural area in the US Gulf South. My home there uses an old, beat-up antenna from either Walmart or Radio Shack--I forget which. That antenna pulls in stations from as far away as 110 miles [under the right conditions]. Granted, I added an amplifier to the line, but I did not replace the old antenna for the analog to digital transition.

Anyone who claims to sell a "digital antenna" is very close to committing fraud on his customers.

I agree , there is no such thing as a ' digital antenna' . A antenna that receives the out going analog transmissions will receive the digital transmissions. And viceaversa. Please do not take Mister ME's statements about 110 mile reception and amplifiers , out of context. Mister Me is doing his best to make a point. The point is that there is no such thing as a 'digital antenna'. And there is no such thing as special (magic antennas) that have 150 mile reception. As a mater of fact the Tv antenna scams are - full on - here in the USA and Canada , with ad after ad after ad selling 150 mile Tv antennas. Digital Broadcast Tv can transmit further with less power then analog Tv and Digital Tv can transmit more then one Tv channel in the (space) 6 Mhz band width that analog Tv can transmit only one channel.

A truth about Digital Tv is that Digital Tv has crystal clear pictures and multichannel sound. If you live close to the Canada / USA border you can receive many more digital channels and digital sub channels from the USA then is broadcast in Canada.
