I bought a flat Phillips in-door antenna (the tech guy @ Wal Mart helped me w/my selection for best reception) when I got my converter box - back when they first came out.
I just did an analistist on how many channels I should possibly be receiving. More than I do! I used to receive all three local stations plus FOX, THIS, and Universal. I haven't been able to receive but only one local channel for quite a few months now along with FOX, Universal, and THIS (The THIS channel finally came back after being unable to receive it for over 3 months even though I had almost full power on that channel whenever I'd re-scan).
Why can't I receive the other two local stations anymore - no matter how I position the antenna?
I am not allowed an outdoor antenna (live in an apt building) so, I have to use the in-door type. The tech told me that the one I bought was the best they offered. The city, where all the local stations are located, is 120 miles SW of where I live.
The antenna is in my livingroom - on the N side of the building - ground floor. I have it in front of my big picture window for the best reception.
Any suggestions on how to get back the other two local channels?
Why - when the channel was receiving adequete power, did I lose it for that length of time?
How long are these converter boxes and antennas good for? Can they still be replaced should they quit working? WalMart, here, does not carry converter boxes anymore. Do I have to special order them from now on?
