Hi all. I’m still researching an antenna(s) for when I move to my new condo next month. I’m considering the Televus Datboss LR mix UHF/VHF antenna to install in an attic(HOA, and yes, I am aware of the law, just don’t want to start crap as soon as I move in).
My question is do you think if I point the antenna toward the UHF towers I want to receive (WFSB, WVIT...) will the VHF elements pick up the VHF station (WTNH) that I want from the side. The location is below.

Thank you for any input.

Shawn

Hello, Shawn.

That's difficult to predict. WTNH will be in a null, making it a lot weaker, when the antenna is aimed at WFSB, but it will help that WTNH is much stronger.

You might have some multipath reflections that will interfere with the reception of WTNH when the antenna is not aimed at WTNH.

You will just have to try it.

If it doesn't work, you will need to use separate UHF and VHF antennas combined with a UVSJ.

Thank you Rabbit. My original plan was to go with 2 antennas, a bow tie and a VHF for WTNH, then I saw a review on this Televes and it sparked my interest. I think I'm probably going to go with my original plan. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Hi Rabbit. Our move in date is rapidly approaching so am trying to finalize this decision on which antenna(s) to buy, so on this topic, what are your thoughts about this monster, the Extreme Signal HD8200XL? If I were to point the UHF elements and reflectors toward the WFSB towers, do you think the very long VHF elements pick up WTNH or would those elements be directional too?

That antenna is much larger than necessary for your location. It covers UHF, VHF-High, and VHF-Low. The VHF-Low elements are 110" wide. You don't have any VHF-Low channels (Real RF channels 2-6).
