can't get abc

i have a philips SDV8622T/27 antennna.

i get all the channels listed in green except for the abc channel: whtm-dt.

it seems like if i would get whp-tv, then i would get this as well.

any help would be appreciated.

The VERY STRONG Signal of 70.9NM(dB) and the amplifier with the 18 dB gain make the signal strength 88.9 NM(dB) add to that the 3 dB of noise of the amplifier and it is now 91.9 NM(dB). That is so strong that signal is now in the red zone of signal strength , it is over the top. The amplifier is over loading and the Tv tuner is over loading. . Unpluging the amplifier from electric power will not make it a non amplified antenna.

I agree with JC, an amplified antenna is not needed and could be overloaded by the strong signals. The documentation on the Philips web site offers very little insight into the correct way to orient the antenna, either in terms of how to aim or orient the antenna horizontally (which is the polarization common to OTA TV transmission).

So;

Have you tried installing the antenna outdoors?

Have you rotated the antenna in small (10° or less) steps to check for best signal strength?

Have you tried both vertical and horizontal orientation? The manual (http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sdv8622t_27/sdv8622t_27_dfu_aen.pdf) and marketing photos generally show a photo that seems like the antenna is vertically aligned, which seems odd, I would expect to use horizontal orientation. Sadly, the manual is of no help resolving such a basic question.

The manual also refers to a gain control knob. Has that been adjusted to minimum?

Do you live in a , house , condo , apt. , mobile home , motor home , or etc. . Where is the phillips antenna located?? . How many tv's are connected?? .

WHP is on UHF, WHTM is on VHF. WHP is 9 db stronger than WHTM. The Philips antenna does better on UHF than VHF. You can't use an amplified antenna, WPMT is too strong.

The best solution is a roof antenna. If you want to continue playing with an indoor antenna, consider the Terk HDTVi, but be prepared for hours of adjusting, scanning and tweaking.
