Sorry, double post, as I'm not sure which forum is the right one:
I decided that I am only going to have 1 tv connected to satellite, and therefore bought an indoor antenna (flat window type). Upon connection, I am able to get the following channels (4.1, 6.1, 11.1, 14.1, 24.1, 30.1, 40.1, 42.1, 43.1, 60.1, 65.1). However, the channel i want the most is 13.1. Any advice on how to get this? The antenna is facing East and is on the main floor window with minimal obstruction.

CJOH is on VHF-High channel 13. The flat antennas are very good on VHF-High and yours if facing the wrong direction. The CHOJ signal is coming from the NNE.
It is the real channel number (also called physical channel or RF channel) that determines what antenna is needed.
VHF-Low, real channels 2-6
VHF-High, real channels 7-13
UHF, real channels 14-51
The virtual channel number (like 5.1 or 5-1) is a holdover from the analog TV days to maintain the identity of the station, and is what the TV displays. By convention, the virtual channel number is given in the decimal form to keep it from being confused with the real channel number.
Something like this might work if you put in the right location:

If it doesn't get 13.1, you will need a VHF-High antenna with more gain in a better location, like attic or outside.
You have channels in two directions, which makes your reception problem more complicated, because the antenna should be aimed at the transmitter for best results.
This is a more accurate list of channels for Ottawa:

CJOH will be moving from 13 to 7.

Thanks for the info rabbit73 - extremely helpful.
Two questions. With the move from 13 to 7, am I more likely to get the signal or is still considered VHF-high.
Also, is there an indoor antenna that would achieve this?
Thanks

With the move from 13 to 7, am I more likely to get the signal or is still considered VHF-high.If the antenna is designed to receive VHF-High signals, which are real channels 7 to 13, the chances of receiving 7 are about the same as for 13.
Also, is there an indoor antenna that would achieve this?
The GE 34792 antenna that I show above has a folded dipole for VHF-High channels 7 to 13.
I am using one indoors on the ground floor and my signals are almost as strong as your signals, However, all my signals are in the same direction.

The GE 34792 antenna requires assembly.

There are several different model numbers, but they all look the same.
There is an indoor/outdoor version that is more sturdy but a little more expensive:

My wife likes the way it looks. After I was through testing it, I started to put it away, but my wife said: "Don't put it away, I like the curve of the reflector."

CJOH isn't scheduled to move until 2020.
