Update, I did a channel search this morning and I am getting channel 21 but still not 36. Makes no sense.

The link you posted was to the search page, not the report itself.
Please remake your report following these directions: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=14508

Sorry about that.

I talked to an engineer at Fox43 in Virginia Beach, he said the WPMC is on air, and suggested turning my antenna a few degrees. Which I did this morning, still could not find channel 36. I wanted Fox for the football season. I am getting WBOC which is ABC/FOX from Salisbury, so thinking of adding amplifier and calling it good. WBOC was breaking up a bit.

I have tried to help fuzzymaster on another forum, but I can't figure it out. Maybe someone here can help him. Background history here:

rabbit, I answered all your points on the other forum. I knew there would be some cross over users, but the more heads you can put together never hurts. thanks

You are correct. That is why I didn't ask any questions here.
It was a good idea to come here for more advice.
You can also try AVS for more answers:

Maybe ADTech can help you when he sees this thread, since you are using a DB4e antenna. He works for Antennas Direct and gives good expert advice.

Some of these have been discussed in the other thread but I'm not sure you answered all of them:
1. In the other thread you said your antenna is aimed at 33 degrees. How did you aim it? With a compass? Cell phone compasses are not known to be very accurate.
2. I have a distant channel that the channel scanner does not find. I add it manually by entering the real channel number (in your case 36). The tv then saves it using the virtual channel number. Did you try that? [Not all televisions support this.] I'd be interested in knowing what you see when you manually tune to the channel. My Samsung shows snow if there is absolutely nothing there. But if it finds something it can't decode it says that that it can't decode it.
3. Although you already mounted the antenna, I'd consider unmounting it and trying it at different points on the roof. Sometimes there is a sweet spot.
4. Did you try connecting a different television and scanning? All tuners are not equal. If you only have one television in the house maybe a small one can be borrowed for the purpose?

I used an actual compass.
My TV is a Vizeo, that is about 5 years old. When I enter channel 36 it displays "no signal"
Getting another TV is possible, and will try that later today.

Also, what would be a good pre amp for my situation?
