I have a strange problem. When viewing channel 6.1 XETV CW, (received sporadically) Channel 6.2 XHGC (spanish) adds itself to my channel lineup.
I remove it and it returns all by itself. Ghost TV, I guess, Spooky...

I have a Y5-7-13 and DB8 with RCA TVPRAMP1R on an 18' mast.

That would be a TV set issue, not an antenna or "reception" issue. XHGC (6.2) is a sub-channel of XETV (both feeds are part of the same signal). While XHGC originates in Mexico City, it's sent over to Tijuana, probably by satellite, where it's piggy-backed onto XETV's signal for viwers the Tijuana area.

You'd have to address that ghostly concern to the TV set folks.

I thought about it being the TV, but it happens on 2 different sets, a PN60F5300 and a 32" LCD both Samsung...

I think what you are seeing is normal.

If your TV locks on to virtual channel 6.1 it will automatically be able to decode sub channel 6.2, both of which are being broadcast by the same transmitter on the same real channel, as ADTech said. Mixing a main channel and a sub channel is called multiplexing. The digital information for both sub channels is intermixed and then transmitted by the transmitter on the same real RF channel 23.

channel 6.1 XETV CW, (received sporadically)
It doesn't help your reception that KVMD is also transmitting on the same channel, which is considered co-channel interference.

And it doesn't help that the signal encounters rough terrain on its way to your antenna, which is why it is called a 2Edge path.

And it doesn't help that the signal barely makes it to your location:

It is the only station that does this, also a very weak signal. So, just keep on deleting it, when it reappears?

It is the only station that does this, also a very weak signal. So, just keep on deleting it, when it reappears?I looked at the manual for the 5300 and unless I don't understand it, once you delete the channel from the channel list, it shouldn't show up again. If I'm wrong, why can't you just change the channel?

I don't have the model number for the 32" Samsung, so I can't comment on that.

I delete it and it returns on both sets. I do change channels and delete the channel again. Sometimes 6.1 XETV gets deleted by itself as 6.2 is added. I was hoping there was something I could do to stop this from continually happening.

Call the TV set manufacturer.
