need help getting started

Hi, I'm trying to cut the cord like so many others. I have an old antenna that was mounted before I purchased the house. It sits above my 2 story house (approx 35' above ground).
It has one single wire coming from it which is most likely the ground strap.
My question is this: where do I connect the coaxial? Assuming I need a balun, is there a wrong place to connect?

Like I said, I'm new to this and it's an older antenna.
I will try to include some photos of my setup.

Yes, you need a balun. One end connects to the coax. The other has two leads that connect to the antenna.

If you use Windows on your computer you can use Paint to save your photos at a resolution. Or just go to Walmart.com or other site you might use to upload your photos and share it.

You can open image with paint, zoom out with view to make smaller (50%) or custom resize by pixels or percent, use snipping tool for rectangular snip, and save as jpg

I use the ZoomBrowser EX software that came with my Canon PowerShot A570 IS camera. It came with version 6.5.1 and I updated it with 6.9.0 updater.

You can also use a free online photo hosting site like PhotoBucket, they automatically resize them as you upload and create the image tags for inserting to forums.
