Attic Antenna

I just cut cable and am looking to buy an attic mount antenna ASAP. I know very little about antennas, so any information will be appreciated.

I plan to tie into the cable wiring that has already been run through my house (2200 sq ft ranch). There will be 3, maybe 4 TV's that will be hooked up through the wiring.

I live in a suburb of OKC. Very flat and no large trees to interfere.

It has already been suggested to me that I consider a Clearstream 2V and that I would not need a distribution amplifier. Does anyone have any other suggested models that I should look into?

Welcome to the forum.

You have a good selection of very strong signals, all in about the same direction.

The C2V is a good choice, aimed at 117 degrees magnetic, but there are three unknowns in your situation.

The first is the signal loss from putting the antenna in the attic. You should be OK, but stucco, aluminum siding, or aluminum radiant barrier will block the signals.

It might be necessary to try different locations in the attic.

The second unknown is the wiring that is already in place. You don't really know what is inside the walls that might give you a problem, unless you did the wiring.

The third is the very strong FM signals in your area that might need an FM trap to protect real channels 7 and 13 from interference.

The roof is plywood and shingles. I have no metal roofing or siding.

I did not run the wiring but it appears that it was run when the house was built, 2003, with CATV cable.

I'll look into th FM trap.

I know how to operate my television and do a channel search from the antenna but I've never purchased a good or even decent antenna. I would like to do it the right way this time.
