Been enjoying free-only Tv since 2009. Surviving on a cheap, indoor multi-directional: RCA ANT1450B.
For $30 and 30 second installation, I cannot complain. I'm in a strong signal area, but there are 2 channels that I would like to receive that are currently intermittent at best: WJBK-DT & CBET-DT.

Even though tvfool has taught me antenna's hate being indoors, I still love 30 second installations. I'm wondering if you guys might have a better indoor antenna suggestion that may serve my purpose.

I am also interested in hearing a suggestion for the rooftop route. Seems like the RCA ANT751 is a fairly common solution...
Possible problems: Do you think I will have trouble receiving CBET, as it is 90 degrees E from me and the main cluster of towers to the N? Is an outdoor Omni-directional a good option for this situation? Also, another site suggests that I would need a pre-amp to receive CBET. I just can't imagine that as I am only 15 miles from the tower, but maybe that is just my ignorance speaking... or maybe their's.

The Terk HDTVi has intentional support for reception of VHF, something the little flat UHF only antennas lack.

The RCA ANT751R, Antennacraft HBU-11 & HBU-22 are good outdoor choices.

A simple reception situation.

Install a , http://www.antennacraft.net , HBU11K antenna Above the Peak of the Roof aimed at about 50 degree magnetic compass direction.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

As always , avoid trees and other obstructions in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at your location are , North , North East , East , South South West , West North West.

Digital Tuners can develop - Digital Glitches - that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

To clear tuner do Double Rescan.

Sure enough, the 2 trouble channels are VHF. I had no idea my antenna was lacking in VHF reception. Quote from my antenna packaging, "Designed to maximize reception of all digital and analog formats via UHF and VHF."

Sounds like some intentional reception deception is involved here. If you think we have a chance of taking down RCA, I'll split the lawsuit winnings 50/50 with tvfool.com.;)

Anyway, I'll be trying the Terk as soon as I can get my hands on one. We'll see if I get to keep being lazy, or have to take things up to the roof.

This is a gray area I suppose... Antennas are generally quite broad in frequency coverage. An antenna designed to receive UHF only will still pick up some (a very vague term) VHF signal and vice versa. Some marketing types love vague terms and can build entire ad campaigns from them.
