I was hoping to get some help buying the right antenna. I currently have a dish antenna hooked up and I would like to disconnect that and hook up an antenna. I want to split to 3 tvs. The run from the antenna to inside the house where it will split is aprox 135'. Antennaweb says a medium range with a pre amp. I kind of question that. There is a lot of trees. A local electronic store sells a channel master CM 3016, and a cm 3018 that would be easy to take back. Thanks for your help.

The CM-3016 is plenty of antenna.
Before committing money to an amplifier, perform this test: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=13646 If an amplifier is needed, the CM-3410 is a great option. It would be placed between the antenna and splitter.

Does he even need the L-VHF capability? KRCW (real 5) is also on real 33 at a much higher NM value, and it's the only L-VHF station I see on the Fool report. Losing that band would make the antenna smaller, of course, which is a concern of his.

You need a high-VHF/UHF antenna (7-51).
