Hello,

I have decided that I would like to try to receive OTA TV. I used to have DirecTV but grew tired of the ever-growing monthly bill and decided to cancel it. So, I'm looking for advice on antenna placement as well as what kind of antenna to buy. In other words, I'm really not sure where to begin, so any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Here is my TV Fool Report:

The tvfool report is not showing any antenna height above ground.

Do Not delete the the tvfool report that is not showing any antenna height above ground.

-------

To see how much signal strengths improve with higher antenna heights above ground please make and post 2 more tvfool reports , 25 and 40 feet above ground.

I forgot to mention that I don't have a problem with putting up an antenna on the roof. Thanks!

A full set of networks will require a bit of creativity. The only FOX available is Washington and it is on UHF. You will also want the VHF stations from DC yet receiving Hagerstown will be more relevant. If I lived there I try a 91XG UHF on a rotator with a Y10-7-13 mounted below the rotator and fixed at DC. I leave the rotator aimed north unless I wanted to watch FOX. Couple the two antennas together with a TVPRAMP1R.

Oops, I'm terribly sorry. For some reason, I did not see the reply prior to my post stating that I didn't have a problem with mounting an antenna outside. Here are those reports:

Research shows that FOX will be received on WHSV-TV UHF channel 42.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHSV.

What this means is.

The Networks , NBC , ABC , CBS , PBS , FOX , MyNetwok , Me-TV , ION , LWN Live Well Network , will be received with 2 antenna connected to 1 antenna system amplifier , for 1 down lead that can be connected to a splitter.

And No antenna rotation with a antenna rotator is required.

This is good because antenna rotation Is Not channel surfing friendly , must wait for antenna to rotate and their Will Be Domestic Situations about the direction the antenna is aimed.

So avoiding antenna rotation is Very Important.
