Can someone suggest what I'll need to get good reception in my area. I live in a small town Monroeville, Al 36460 with mostly small homes with scattered tall pines throughout the subdivision. The closest station is around 55 miles away with others I'd like to receive that are 60 to 70 miles+. Thanks in advance for any help.

The provided Tvfool report is the default 10 feet antenna height above ground.

Do not delete the Tvfool report that is 10 feet antenna height above ground.

--------

The signal strengths of the receivable Tv stations are weak signal strengths and Tv transmitters are at Distance.

To see if signal strengths improve at heigher antenna heights.

To evaluate what signal strengths are at other antenna heights above ground please make and post 2 more Tvfool reports , 25 feet above ground and 40 feet above ground.

What about the trees in the directions of , South West / South , South East , East , North East , North West??

Thanks for the reply. Here are the 2 reports asked for. There are going to be Trees in any direction if you go very far at all in any direction.

Your ability to avoid obstructions such as trees or nearby buildings will play a large role in reliable reception.

I would opt for a Winegard HD7698P pointed at about 200° per a compass. I would also install an RCA TVPRAMP1R preamplifier.

Above the peak of the roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the roof and building in the directions of , south west , south , south east , east , north east , north , north west.

Install a Winegard HD7698P antenna aimed at about 210 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

The Main Group of Tv transmitters you are aiming for are to the , south west.

Receivable Tv transmitters are also in other directions.

---------

Install a Winegard , AP8700 preamplifier.

----------

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the , DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~ Antenna Channels , in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable Tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable Tv channels.

Go into the Tv Setup Menu and select , DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~ Antenna Channels .

---------

As Always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

Absorbing , Blocking , Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv signals bouncing around.

The Best Pratice is to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

I believe you will find the RCA TVPRAMP1R beats the AP8700 in both price and performance. (Presuming you can find the 8700 which has been discontinued by Winegard.)

Yes Winegard has recently replaced industry standard amplifiers with 2 New amplifiers , the LNA-200 'Boost' XT , and , LNA-100 'Boost' amplifiers.

Then install the Winegard , LNA-200 'Boost' XT , preamplifier.

I'm also confident the RCA preamp will beat the LNA200 on both price and performance. The LNA100 is not designed for outdoor exposure.

Winegard is confident to replace 8 diferent preamplifiers that have been industry standards for a long time.

---->With 1 New preamplifier.<----

So Winegard is Very Confident in the New , LNA-200 'Boost' XT preamplifier.

And Yes is true , the LNA-100 'Boost' is not 'desinged' for outdoor use.
