Can someone give advice on which antenna pulls the best reception (Mohu Sky or Clearstream V2) in the following area?

Consider the Clear Stream 5. It was designed as a High-VHF solution but has proved to have useful UHF performance as well. http://www.antennasdirect.com/cmss_files/attachmentlibrary/C5%20technical%20data%20with%20uhf.pdf

The VHF performance is directional, face the antenna toward 47° (mag.). The UHF performance is less directional, approaching omnidirectional. (See page 8 of the manufacturer's technical specifications.)

To answer your question more directly, the C2V is more appropriate than the Mohu in your situation.

...also, avoid the use of anything with an amplifier. Do not add an amplifier.

I am wondering why you suggest that I not use an amplifier? I am new to the antennae world and trying to understand all of the possibilities.

Many of the preamplifiers on the market are designed for use in weak signal areas. They can be overloaded by strong signals. If that happens, signals are mixed together inside the amplifier, producing interfering signals that were not received by the antenna and which can result in less reliable reception. In extreme cases, no reception.

If you have many tuners to connect, or long runs of coax, it's possible you may need to consider a distribution amplifier. Until you establish the need, save your money. Here's a fairly simple test that can help you determine if an amplifier should be considered: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=13646

The C5 is a good antenna for reception at your location.

Another antenna is the ANT751 antenna.

Test reception Without a antenna system amplifier First.

And can also Test reception with a Winegard , LNA-100 'Boost' antenna system amplifier.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

As always , the starting antenna aim direction is the --> strating antenna aim direction.

The antenna aim direction and location can be adjusted for best reception.

Most Digital Tv' have a Signal Strength Meter and some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.
