A Simple reception situation.

Above the roof in such a manner that the roof and building are not , obstructing , impeding , blocking , reception to the , North West , West , South West , install a ANT751 antenna aimed at about 265 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

_______________

Install a Winegard , LNA-100 'Boost' amplifier.

_______________

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

_______________

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. .

I'm renting the apartment on the 2nd floor. It might be possible to mount the antenna outside, but if I were to mount inside, what that change your recommendation?

Thanks.

The point is to get the ANT751 antenna Up High.

More reasons for having the ANT751 antenna Up High.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on broadcast Tv reception with a Tv antenna and so do buildings and other obstructions including the roof and building.

The Best Pratice is to install a Tv antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including the roof and building.

_______________

If you will like to Test reception with a indoor type antenna.

For your location , install a Terk HDTVi antenna (Not HDTVa) in/at a ~West~ facing window or balcony door window.

Also install a Winegard , LNA-100 'Boost' amplifier.
______________

Window glass and pelxi glass offer little resistance to the reception of Tv transmissions so it is Best to have the indoor antenna at a location that has the Best reception.

The following is a -Non Complete- list of building construction that will reduce Tv reception More.

Walls , metal siding , metal backed insulation , metal roofs , metal doors , metal screens on the windows and doors , concrete , concrete blocks , bricks , rocks , and etc. and more , reduce the reception even more.
