View Full Version : Need help picking the right antenna
I want one channel out of Pittsburgh (KDKA). It is 52.4 miles away. Please point me in the right direction. I will mount w/mast to roof of a second story home. The antenna will only be about 25ft from the tv.

Your TV Fool report is flagged with: WARNING: Address was only resolved to block level and might not be that close to your actual location. For more accurate results, try entering a specific address or coordinates.
If the report represents your conditions, KDKA should be be received with an Antennas Direct DB4e. However, there are other signals that can be received in that direction... I would opt for a Winegard HD7698P equipped with an Antennacraft 10G201 or RCA TVPRAMP1R preamp.

Thanks for the reply. Here is the exact location. Do you think I will be able to actually pick up KDKA out of Pittsburgh. I was unable to with a cheap ebay amplified antenna. Got to watch my Steelers! Thanks for your help

Yes, I think KDKA is within reach.
I still like the HD7698P option.
I gather that you have an antenna already? If so you have some options to choose from when deciding how to connect a second antenna to your TV. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=2882
Thanks for your help. I will be going with the HD7698P. I also love the tip of using two antennas. I'm anxious to see if it comes in, not receiving that channel has kept me stuck with cable. I recently ended all paid tv and going only OTA.
