OK...
I appreciate your input. Thank You.
I live in the Green Mountains, of Vermont, north of the Berkshires, east of Albany on a west facing mountainside at just under 2000', in the forest, on a dirt road. Lots of snow drops here. I doesn't all melt off until May most years. The good news is, that the trees are bare more than half the year. They just filled out a couple weeks ago.
I cancelled my DirecTV after the two year contract ran out last month and they had raised my monthly again. I planned on doing without for the summer to spend more time outdoors. We had an evening at a neighbors house, and he has a 2 bay UHF antenna that he gets a lot with (something like 16 channels), similar to the Eagle Aspen Dtv2Buhf Directv 2-Bay Uhf Antenna. He is below my elevation, and below the trees.
So, I think I would like to mount something on the roof peak at the rear of the house that will face westerly toward the Albany area towers. I have attached a photo of the view F.Y.I. It is a challenge. Fortunately the most open area is toward the towers in the WSW direction.
Here is my report. I entered the antenna height at 50 feet. The road is at least 50ft below the roof top, so the elevation is greater than what we will see I think. I used coordinates from the address. My home's upper deck GPS altitude is 1935ft on my Garmin trail GPS init.

I don't mind investing in a good rig, but want to be reasonable, and don't want something up into the sky, ruining the simple looks of my mountain home.
Thanks again,
Eric of the Green Mountains
