I've read and read but it's just over my head . I would be thankful for any advice. I would place the antenna on a sigle story house and would like to run two TVs. I am interested in getting channels 2,5,8,11,17,36,46

Read and understand this about , Real Digital Tv Channels , Virtual Digital Tv Channels , Analog Tv Channels. One NEEDS to Know the Real Digital Tv Channel so one can know the correct antenna to install and use so one can receive and watch the Tv Channels. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695

There is a run of question askers lately that are taking pictures of the radar plot and posting the picture. Can not make a correct antenna evaluation because this radar image can not be changed to view pending applications or digital only stations or analog only stations both present and future.

How many Tv's will be connected?? My suggestion for receiving the Tv channels to the south west , south , south east will be clear and clean , no leaps in logic that jump over the steps to install the system. . How many Tv's will be connected??

Ok the Tv antenna is a Winegard HD7698P with a Winegard AP8275 preamp. The network Tv stations are in the direction of Atlanta and are weak. The antenna and preamp will supply signal for up to 4 Tv's. The antenna will be pointed at about 189 magnetic compass , here is how to point Tv antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html . . The digital channels are the channels to be received. The digital tv needs to scan for digital broadcast tv channels , not cable channels. If you have analog tv's then you need to use a digital to analog converter box. Read and understand this about Real Digital Tv Channels , Virtual Digital Tv Channels , Analog Tv Channels , http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695 . . The Correct way to do the RG-6 coax wiring is , at a good location that is easy to get to and has AC power avaliable , will be the splitter , and from the splitter a RG-6 coax cable will go out to each Tv location. If one Tv is connected --do not use a splitter , if two tv's are connected --use a two way splitter , if three tv's are connected -- use a three way splitter , if four tv's are conntcted use a four way splitter. Each time a split takes place the signal is reduced. The Correct Strong and Sturdy way to mount a Tv antenna on the roof is with a , tripod mount , chimney mount , peak of the roof Eave mount. The RG-6 coax lead in wire should be grounded useing a coax grounding block , the best place to ground is the electric service ground wire , do not cut the electric service ground wire , use a split bolt clamp bolt. A cold water pipe can be used as ground , the pipes must be metal and yes you need to scrap off paint and corrosion.

As a result of doing more research then a sane person would , here are digital to analog converters , Alphadigital AT2016 , Tivax STB-T8 , CM7000. . Here devices that have Digital tuners and are more then simple converters , CM7000PAL , Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK , K WORLD SA290-Q LE , K World SA290-Q DVI , K World SA295-Q DE . . Zinwell ZAT 950A , the Zinwell is simple converter that has has a programable channel timer that comes on and outputs RF channel 3 or 4 , or composite video and audio to a Tv or a recorder such as a VCR or DVD recorder.

Most all Tv reception situations have variables. Here are some of yours. . Getting reception down to WSB 39 ABC with a minus -3.7 NM(dB) signal strength is a stretch. Will need to turn the antenna to the left and right to find the strongest signal. If WSB 39 ABC is not receivable there is WSB 46 ABC at 143 magnetic compass and may need to turn the antenna some in that direction to receive it with out losing the weaker channels at Atlanta. It's a balancing act. . WPXA-DT 51 ION and WATC-DT 41 are off axis with the front of the Tv antenna and this reduces reception. In this situation it's Ok because the signals are strong , The reduction in signal strengths will make them more like the signal strengths of the other channels.
