Need help with an antennae please

I want to get away from DirecTV and I am having trouble finding an antennae to fit my needs. My wife insets we be able to get WILM so she can watch NCIS. Thank you in advance. David.

Reliable reception of WILM on real channel 40 looks easy based on your TV Fool Report.

You have several good options open to you... I would suggest an Antennas Direct DB2e facing about 260° per a compass.

If you want to add WCTI, real channel 12 to the lineup you can add a Winegard YA1713 pointed at 38° compass. You would be able to use a UHF/VHF combiner to join the two signal sources into a common down-lead.

A simple reception situation using 1 antenna.

For reception of the , Pending Applications Included Digital Tv stations/channels in the Green and Yellow reception zones of the tvfool radar report and channel list.

The signal strengths in the Green and Yellow reception zones are Strong Signal Strength at your location and are , LOS=Line Of Sight , LOS is the best reception.

Above The Peak Of The Roof in such a manner that reception is not blocked by the roof and house in the directions of , west , south west , north east.

Install a Antennas Direct Clear Stream 2 Complete UHF/VHF antenna.

Remove the Reflector Screen from the CS2 Complete antenna.

The reflector screen is not the UHF reception loops.

The reflector screen is not the VHF reception rods.

The reflector screen is the screen , remove the reflector screen and the CS2 Complete antenna will receive 2 directions , the front of the antenna and back of the antenna.

Aim the front or back of the CS2 Complete antenna at about 50 degree magnetic compass direction.

And the CS2 Complete antenna will receive the Digital Tv stations/channels to the , west , south west , north east.

The CS2 Complete comes with a , J pole type antenna mount.

Try reception without a antenna system amplifier.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a simple common 3 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a simple common 4 way splitter.

If a antenna system amplifier is required with 3 or 4 Tv's connected , then use a , Winegard 'Boost' LNA-100 amplifier.

The Winegard 'Boost' LNA-100 amplifier is not water resistant so the amplifier is to be installed inside.

The Winegard 'Boost' amplifier is installed between the CS2 Complete antenna and before the splitter.

The closer the amplifier is to the antenna , the better.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , do a good job of , absorbing , multi-path reflecting , blocking , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the CS2 Complete antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

As you see, there are several good ways to go about this. If the signal from WCTI, real CH-12 is not important to you, you can keep things very simple... Any 2-bay panel type UHF antenna would do quite well. To feed 4 TVs, you would not need any amplifier if you opted to forgo the signal from WCTI.

For more than 4 TV's, My experience with the Channel Master CM-3410 & CM-3418 distribution amplifiers has been very good. They have been 100% reliable and I have yet to overload one with strong signals well in excess of the conditions you face.

My thinking re. the YA1713 was that it would likely give you the bonus of seeing WNCT on real CH-10, though I don't want to 'over sell' the possibility. For sure, the added gain of the YA1713 would bring the levels for WCTI up closer to the levels from the signals from the west. (I'm not criticizing teleview's suggestions, I think we're each seeing the possibilities.)

It boils down to, what do you need/want.

If I did not think that WTCI channel 12 would be received reliably with the CS2 Complete antenna I would not have recommended it.

The CS2 Complete is designed to receive.

VHF high band channels 7 thru 13.

UHF band channels 14 thru 51.

There is one way to find out , install the CS2 Complete antenna.
