I am looking to get local scranton stations as well as binghamton WBNG. I am limited to an attic antenna install. Using an amplified rabbit ear I can get all the Scranton stations most of the time but not a solid lock on the ones in Yellow.

If I installed a CM 4228 and pre amp would it be too much for the locals? If I pointed it towards Binghamton (NW) would I still pick up the locals?

Thanks for any insight.

Edit: I used to get WBNG with plain rabbit ears before the switch over to DTV.

As always , Attics Are Not a reception friendly environment and Never Will Be a reception friendly environment.

To try for reception with a antenna in the Attic , of the Locals in the Green and Yellow reception zones of the tvfool Pending Applications Included Digital radar report and channel list install a Antennas Direct Clear Stream 2 Complete VHF/UHF antenna aimed at about 260 degree magnetic compass direction.

http://www.antennasdirect.com/store/ClearStream-C2-VHF-Combo.html.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Try reception with No preamplifier if the house/roof has asphalt composition type singles and no metal backed insulation and no metal siding on the roof end walls.

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a simple common 2 way splitter.

WBNG-TV VHF channel 7 CBS and CW -->Will Not Be Received<-- with any type or kind of antenna Big or Small antennas in the attic , WBNG-TV 7 , Will Not Be Received in the attic , it will not happen.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , multipath/reflecting , absorbing , blocking , Digital Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

It is best to install the CS2 Complete antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to be able to pull WBNG in, but it appears that will not be likely given an attic mount. The locals shouldnt be much of a problem as I basically recieve them now with rabbit ears, so the attic antenna should get a solid lock on them.
