I have a Vizio 37" HDTV that is only 3 yrs old. I was getting the on screen program guide until I redirected my antenna. I only moved the antenna about 5 degrees. The transmitters are at 359 degrees, about 30 miles away. I live in Cypress, CA.

I've rescanned my channels (I get 149 digital channels). My major network stations get 100% reception.
For some reason, I can't get the tv to display the guide. It says "no program information available". Well, I know thats not true, since up to the point of redirecting my antenna, I was getting the on screen guide about 20 minutes before I redirected the antenna.

I contact Vizio and they think the TV is the problem.

Can anyone tell me that it could be antenna direction?

If you are receiving a reliable signal, (stable picture and sound) your antenna is not the problem. The program guide data is mixed in with the video and audio data... failure of the antenna to receive the program guide data would also mean the loss of video and audio data.

Try a double rescan. http://www.dtv.gov/rescan.html

Well, I tried the double scan. It didn't bring back the program guide. I have until Feb 26 to file a warranty claim with American Express. I have proceeded with this process.
In regard to the other advice about a guide service, I don't believe this is the same issue. The program guide is Vizio's version much like other brands have theirs. As I mentioned in my post, the guide was displaying until I change the antenna direction which I don't believe is the reason. It maybe coincidental.
Anyway, I will pursue getting it fixed or replaced depending on what Amex says.

Thanks all for your input. If you have any other ideas-I'll be glad to try them.

Do you have any friends nearby that also use OTA TV service? If they are seeing EPG information on their TV it would tend to confirm you have trouble with your TV... and prove it's not a station multiplexing failure.
