Hi, I'm cancelling cable and wanted to check my OTA coverage. I am about 55 miles from all the towers...

Also, I'm not allowed to put anything on my roof. So either an indoor antenna or something in the window. Possibly something small on the porch. We are on the first floor, right on the coast, just above sea level. The area is hilly as well, we get close to 0 cell service with all providers.

If I'm reading the tvfool search correctly, my options aren't great. Please explain any indoor or small outdoor antenna options I have. I'm going to use mostly streaming services so OTA would just be a bonus.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Having read the other threads and posts here at tvfool you Know about the Federal Antenna Law that Clearly States that Yes you can install a Tv antenna of any size above the roof to have Reliable Reception.

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/facts/otard.html.

So what is the reason that you say no antenna above the roof??

Are you renting?? Leasing?? If you are renting or leasing , the owner of the house has the right to say Yes or No.

If you Own or Are Buying , Yes you can install a antenna above the roof.

And so that you know , it will take a Big antenna above the roof.

A Winegard HD7082P antenna to have Reliable Reception.

And , Many , many , many , many , many , many , many , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels will be received.

In/at a window or porch/patio/balcony/roof , that is toward the north , the higher the better , install a Antennas Direct , Clear Stream 2 Complete Vhf/Uhf antenna aimed at about 326 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

http://www.antennasdirect.com/store/ClearStream-C2-VHF-Combo.html.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a good job of , reflecting , reducing , blocking , OTA= Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and house.

Do not install/aim the antenna in such a manner that the roof and house are blocking reception to the , north west.

It is best to install the CS2 Complete antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the direction of reception , at your location that is , north west.
_____

Also install a , Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp.

_____

For 1 Tv connected use No splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.hollandelectronics.com.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com.

____________

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Digital Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' / 'Antenna Channels'.
