Hi,

A newbie needs advice to pick an antenna.
Here is my signal analysis.

I am thinking about installing the antenna in the attic and hooking up with the cable wiring left by comcast. There is no big buildings or tree around the house and I believe the roof is synthetic shingle.

Is this antenna an overkill? What would you guys suggest?

Thanks a lot!

The CS4 is a fine antenna for UHF reception. You have both UHF and VHF signals available. The Clear Stream 5 was developed as a high-band VHF (real CH-7 through 13) antenna. but does well in the UHF band also.

One of the unique characteristics of it's UHF performance is that it tends to be less directional, which would be useful in your case. I would start with the antenna facing 285° and fine tune the aim from there.

Your attic may or may not be a good receiving site. The CS5 is an outdoor design that can withstand the elements should you need to move it into the clear.

The 'pending' version of you report Indicates that KAHO may begin operating on real CH-4. If you want to add that signal, a low-band VHF antenna pointed due north would be need in addition to the CS5. A HLSJ can be used to combine the two antennas into a single coax. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=zhlsj&d=blonder-tongue-band-separator/combiner-hlsj-vhf-band-high-low-antenna-separator-combiner-single-piece-%28zhlsj-1%29

Thank you so much, GroundUrMast! Is there any cheaper antenna will do the same job? I'm in an area with a lot of lightning in summer, so I strong prefer a indoor/attic antenna.
