I went in my garage today and an hour or so later emerged with this:

To my surprise it worked just sitting in the floor in my bedroom. I received channels 6,19,25, 63, and and unstable 35. I saw the plans and actually had everything in my garage even the little compass I mounted on top the the PVC that came with my first sat dish. One question isn't this supposed to be a UHF only antenna? Just wondering how I am getting channel 6 ABC 46 miles in the opposite direction.

OK now that I know I have signals to catch I am thinking of getting the Antennas Direct 91XG and AntennaCraft Y5-7-13 and a UVSJ UHF VHF Band Combiner. What do you guys think of this choice? Alternatives? Other than the ability of making the ugliest antenna on the planet I am clueless. Thanks

FYI, ABC is broadcasting on channel 42, so it really is a UHF signal.

You need to look at the "real" channel number to see what channel the signal is broadcast on. The virtual channel (6.1) is merely a cosmetic mapping that changes the channel number displayed on your screen and has nothing to do with the true broadcast frequency. When it comes to antenna selection, the real channel is the only one that matters.

Would the AntennaCraft 33 Element UHF/High-Band VHF be a better choice and only have one antenna instead of 2?

Took the reflector off and put the homemade antenna in the attic to further test and picked up 10, 12, 26, and pulled in 35 very good in addition to the channels I already had 6,19,25, & 63. Still not getting either of the FOX stations but hoping a real antenna will fix that.

I suggest a Winegard HD7698P pointed at 56 degree magnetic compass. Will supply signal to one or two Tv's. Here is how to point Tv antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html , Read and understand this about Real Digital Tv Channels and Virtual Digital Tv Channels and Analog Tv Channels. http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=695
