Very Rural Antenna Help

Like most people I'm looking for suggestions on a antenna for my aprt. I can't have an outdoor antenna and I don't have access to the attic. My bedroom is on the second floor facing the direction of the stations I want.

The only station close is the 2000' PBS station about 15 miles south of my location. The rest are on a 2000' mountain located in Little Rock, AR.

I'm thinking a omnidiretional indoor amp will work. Any ideas from you guys? I need something relatively cheap as I'm a poor college kid. You can be technical as I have a ham radio background.

As you can see on the tvfool Pending Applications Included Digital Only Tv Station radar report and channels list , the main groups of Tv stations to receive are to the , north , north east.

If you have a window that is toward the , north , north east , east.

Close to or in the window put a Trek HDTVi non amplified antenna , (not the HDTVa amplified antenna) in the window aimed at about about 35 degree magnetic compass direction.

The HDTVi receives 2 directions front and back.

As always , indoors Is Not a reception friendly environment and Never Will be a reception friendly environment.

That is why the antenna is placed at a window that is in the direction of reception , to get better reception through the window.

The PBS station to the south is Strong Signal Strength and will most likely be received Ok.

If the building is wood with wood or vinyl siding and a composition shingle roof , that is best for reception.

The following is non complete list of situations that will , reflect , reduce , block , Tv reception.

If the building is , concrete , concrete blocks , brick from ground to roof , big rocks for walls , metal siding , metal back insulation , metal roof , solar panels.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of , refelcting , reducing , blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to install a antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of receptions.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.
