I presently have a small RS yagi pointed to 203% at 15 ft. It receives all the Wilmington stations with WILM a little iffy. It also receives WCTI all the time.

I intend to mount an antenna at a 50ft level. the length of coax will be 230ft. This gets me out of the thick trees in SW part of my property.

My apologies for not asking my question.

I do not know the exact model number. It is a UHF Corner Reflector.

I made a mistake in height. It will be 30ft not 50ft.

The UHF corner reflector antenna UHF channels 14 thru 51 is far to directional in the forward direction and is not designed to receive the VHF high band channels of 7 thru 13 for reception at your location.

I recommend a antenna that is far less directional and is designed to receive UHF channels 14 thru 51 and VHF channels 7 thru 13.

I recommend a ANT751 antenna aimed at about 347 degree magnetic compass direction. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The ANT751 antenna has some forward direction antenna gain and also receives at the , front angles , back , back angles , directions of the antenna.

The Tv stations you are after are to the , north east , east , south west , north west.

Install the ANT751 in such a manner that the reception is not reduced or blocked to the , north east , east , south west , north west.

Looking at the Pending Applications Included Digital Channels list , the Tv stations in the Green and Yellow reception zones will be received , and some of the Tv stations in the Red reception zone at 347 degree magnetic compass direction should be received.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv trensmissions travel through thje air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

If the Tv stations to , north west , are not that much interest to receive (they are more of the same networks such as , NBC , CBS , ABC , etc.) then aim the ANT751 at about 64 degree magnetic compass direction.

With the ANT751 antenna aimed at 64 degrees magnetic compass direction , that will put the Tv stations to the north west , on the side of the antenna.

The Sides of a Tv antenna is where the least amount of reception takes place.

Update ANT751R with cp19 preamp 230 ft of rg6

I have aimed at 347 degrees and reception was iffy.

I now have aimed at 64 degrees.

My reception follows

WWAY 87% to 95%
WECT 94%
WITN 94%
WNCT 100% RF10
WILM 80%
WCTI 100% RF12
WYDO 91%
WUNM 100%
WSFX 81%
WPXU 94%
WUNJ 96%

I was orginally trying to tune in WLFL CW at 347 degrees

WNCT 9.1 is CBS and 9.2 CW

Can add these channels (and more) by installing a Channel Master CM4228HD antenna with a CPA-19 preamp aimed at about 347 degree magnetic compass direction.

WRDC - MyNetwork.

WLFL - The Country Network.

WRAZ - Me-Tv.

WNCN - Antenna Tv.

This will be a completely Separate antenna system , that is not connected to the other antenna system.

The same type and kind of splitters will be used.

At each Tv location will be a Remote control A/B antenna switch.

A/B antenna switching is Channel Surfing Friendly , press the button on the hand held remote control , change antennas and keep on channel surfing.

This an update on reception.

I have the original ant751r at the 30ft height pointed at 64 deg mag

I have another ant751r at 27ft height pointed at 212 deg mag

I have on a combiner with preamp that was already installed

I was quite surprised that every channel increased in signal quality

The only problem that was already present with adverse atmospheric conditions which cuts out WILM with Hampton Roads station with same RF40.

I am thinking that the ANT751 that is aimed at 64 degree magnetic compass direction should receive the group of 5 Tv stations to the south west , including WILM , without the second ANT751 , and no 2 antenna coupler.

The south west group of Tv stations are strong signal strength.

I did not put up a CM4228.

I have more than enough from the two LOS markets

I have now replaced it with the original uhf corner reflector pointed SW , along with a y5-7-13 pointed NE. They are connected with a

I received a Winegard HD 9032 today. It will be three weeks before the Welding Shop fabricates the modication needed to have all 3 antennas separated by a minimum of 3 feet.

I almost had a total failure of support system in early June . It was a treated 4x4 wooden post buried in 2ft of concrete. My son in law was helping me install the adapter at the top. We had the mast resting on a sawhorse with no stress on the post. We suddenly heard a loud POW sound like a rifle shot. The post had cracked at top of concrete to about 2ft up. I then took every thing down.

I then twisted the post and found the failure. The crack started 6 inches beneath the top of the concrete.

Now the new setup.

1. New 34in x 34in 8 inches deep concrete pad with 1/2 in anchors installed with template

2. 6ft strong metal post welded to 18in square 3/8 in plate
3. Hinge attachment I already had is welded plum on the plate.

Now to the antenna system.
1. metal attachment mounted at top of mast. the mount positions are 4 ft apart
1.a original uhf corner mounted to one side aimed 64 magnetic
1.b original ant751r on the other side with a screen behind it aimed 210 magnetic.

2. Y5-7-13 aimed 70 magnetic 2ft beneath

Back in mid December I had total signal loss. I puchased a tvampr1(sp) a couple of years ago. I installed it today in place of the cp19. I am back to good signal quality.

The CPA19 amps were sold with a lifetime warranty. Contact customer service and we'll get it replaced.

It turns out that CP019 preamp was not bad.

The downlead was the problem, where it attached to the ground block.

If I install an electric line to the concrete pad and put the power supply for the preamp in a weather proof enclosure would it help the preamp any all?

It would depend upon how much DC voltage the preamp is getting now through the long coax and how much voltage it needs for proper operation.

Also, the type of RG6 makes a difference. RG6 with a solid copper conductor has less voltage drop than RG6 with a copper clad steel center conductor.

Which preamp are you using now?

Why don't you make a test with a heavy gauge extension cord before running a line.

all of the rg6 is solid copper

preamp is cp019

the rg6 is in schedule 40 1 inch pipe from the house to antenna base.

I will try 100 ft 10 gauge extension cord first

If I can convince my wife I will have a 30ft tower installed later in the year

all of the rg6 is solid copperGood, less DC voltage drop. The CPA-19 power supply is 200 mA, I think, so the preamp must draw less than that.
preamp is cp019Good, the CPA-19 is resistant to overload, which you need with your strong signals, but your tuner might overload in some cases.
the rg6 is in schedule 40 1 inch pipe from the house to antenna base.That will protect it from physical damage, but the coax might deteriorate from a buildup of condensation in the PVC.

Hi everybody

I just got antenna base poured on Nov 23.

That included 52 bags 60lbs) and 94 lbs of portland cement.

I lowered the ist 10 frf of tower and attached the middle 10ft and got a neighbor to help the top 10 to the middle one

I gotthe cabling and grounding done this past Monday

It was to windy Tuesday so the next day I walked it up and got it secured on the hinges.

the ant751r is on top at approx 33 ft

Pointed at64 degrees

The first scan got 50 found

30 minutes no signal

checked this morning and have signal

The problem was outlet that power inserter and signal distribution were plugged into.

Now signal levels

From Wilmington NC

Back edge of antenna

From Greenville Market

WITN 80

You can from above posts that I have much reception from the tower except for WITN

Before the repack I received WITN at 100


WSFX anywhere from 88 to 92

But I did not have as stable system as have now






Two Weeks afterward I had cable and preamp failure

So orders a 150 rg6 cable and 35 ft rg6 cable

Pulled the 150 ft cable through about 122 ft of conduit 1 inch in diameter

installed a pingbingding preamp and back on line
