No antenna reception, Atlanta area

Hello-

We have always used antennas instead of cable. We just moved from the Cincinnati area, where we got many channels with our current antennas, to the Atlanta area and we are not picking up any channels at all. We are using the same tvs and antennas, and your map shows that we have many channels available. (Our analysis results: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d2df96d2ca81c98) Can anyone suggest what we might be doing wrong? We've done this same set up in several different cities and never had this trouble before.

Are you using an indoor or outdoor antenna?

It's just one of the cheaper indoor RCA flat antennas. It says 1015GM on the back. It's worked so well for us in the past, but nothing here.

Depending on your home construction and sorrounding terrain, the RCA flat antenna should receive some of the LOS channels.



A better choice would be to pick up a Terk HDTVi antenna and place it on the side of your home, near a window facing the transmitters. An even better choice would be to mount an RCA ANT751 antenna in your attic or on your roof.

A Simple reception situation.

Above the roof install a ANT751 antenna aimed at about 250 degree magnetic compass direction.

http://www.solidsignal.com , has the ANT751 , with a J type antenna mount , low dollars.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

Best locate the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Antenna Channels' or "Air Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do not channel scan for cable tv channels.
