I have a friend Cindy who lives in warriors mark, Pa. on a lot with a good place to install a 30 ft pole and just a couple of trees in and around her lot.
This is the TV FOOL REPORT (http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d5ed698a90e3c95)
She is trying to cut the high cost of basic cable.
I have installed my own antenna on my home in Osceola Mills, Pa. ( on the other side of a mountain) and I have good results with my channel master antenna model-- CM3679 at my home, but I am not sure if that is a good choice for her location.
I understand the basics of proper install, including grounding and the pitfalls of over amplification but I am not sure what outdoor antenna may be best for her location and if she would benefit from a rotor or a pre-amp.My family members are in the plumbing and welding trades and I am sure we can make a very nice 30 ft mast for her antenna. She has two modern LCD flat screen Televisions in her home, so no adapters to recieve signals will be required.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast Tv reception.

The tvfool radar report is to street level only and may not be a accurate picture of the reception.

Please make a tvfool radar report using the Exact address.

If that does not work then go to the tvfool home page and click on >>StartMAPS<< , move the pointer to the Exact location , make the antenna height 25 feet , and make the map and post it here at your thread.

There is no need for the VHF capability in your antenna. There is only UHF available at the requested location. You need as much UHF gain as you can get.

Install a Channel Master 8bay 4228HD antenna

No amplifier. No rotor. Just aim toward the Altoona/Johnstown stations.

Be prepared to try at different height and locations.

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast Tv reception.

The tvfool report at street level that may not represent a accurate picture of the reception situation.

The Tv signals are Very Weak.

The street level report , Is showing Digital Tv stations in 2 directions , the 8 bay antenna will not be able to receive both of those directions. Only one direction.

No high gain directional antenna will receive weak DTV signals from multipul directions. If you need more than Altoona and Johnstown you will need a rotor and an amplifier.

I recommend that you use the 8bay set-up, keeping it simple and doable as a DIY project.

If you need further assistance let me know. I understand the reception challenges in the hills of PA.

A accurate Tv fool report is Very Important.

There are choices of Tv antennas to be installed.

More then one evaluation is important.

The followoing is a Teleview recommendation brocast Tv reception.

If the street level radar report is correct for your location.

Here is list of the digital broadcast Tv stations/channels.

WPSU , PBS. Direction of station , east.

WATM , ABC and FOX and This Tv. Direction of station south west.

W42DG-D , NBC and MeTv. Direction station east.

WTAJ , CBS. Direction of station south west.

WHVL , MyNetWork and America One. Direction of station north east.

WKBS , Religion. Direction of station south west.

The 8 Bay will not receive all the ones of the list.

At the >>SatartMAPS<< part of tvfool home page , I typed in Warriors Mark , Pa. I see that Warriors Mark is a Very Hilly Place , the location of the antenna can make the difference of a few stations received or Many stations received.

Many reception situations , a care fully chosen antenna (with No rotator) will receive all the receivable Tv stations even though the Tv stations are different directions.

Again , a address correct tvfool radar report is -> Very Important <- for reception in and around Warriors Mark.
