Unfortunately, our transmitter database does not include any information on TV transmitters in the Bahamas, so we are not able to help you predict how much TV signal you are getting.

Based on a little searching, it looks like there are only two major TV transmitters in operation. One serves Nassau (ZNS-TV), and the other serves Freeport (ZNS-TV-1). They are both broadcasting on channel 13. If you are within range of either of these transmitters, then a VHF-only antenna like the Winegard YA-6713 or Antennacraft Y5713 might be what you need.

Since I have zero experience with Bahamian television, the accuracy of this information is questionable.

Near the West End Airport on Grand Bahama Island, it would be theoretically possible to receive a few US stations. To do so would require a large antenna or even ganged antenna array. Also, you would need to be able to mount the array fairly high, on a tower perhaps.

I have a web site written on paper some where that has maps of the transmitter locations and how far in all directions the transmissions extend , I am looking for it. One of your responds has shown up on this post http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=1199 . I am researching the reception situation for ZNS now. Other countries Out Side of the USA do a really B-A-D job of providing information that means any thing. I have expericened this time and time again.

thats right reception is really bad they need to consider this back in analog i use to get florida here in the central bahamas but since they gone dtv dont get i have a converter box still not getting anything signal to weak now or have to upgrade antena but are home station dont show to well since analog change come stary drop out not strong anymore

ok all i no that am in the central bahamas long island nassau is in the west my antenna is pointed more northernly like for tv13 it picks up but not strong i dont understand google lol but some help or idea what am trying to say

It sounds as if you are between 250 KM and 350 KM from Nassau. If this is correct, it will be extremely difficult to receive television transmissions reliably.

As a hobby attempt I might try building a rhombic antenna.

For channel 13 you would need a large area in which to erect such an antenna. ( as much as 20 Meters by 10 Meters )

Clayton you have posted on this post http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=1205 , are You mixed up?? And Your posts - the wording is like starting somewhere in a sentence. The wording that you use is a jumble of mixed up information - and is open to wide interpretation. I am finding out that the Bahamas is not a cooperative place when looking and asking for information. I think that it is best that you contact ZNS Directly and see if you can get anything out of them.
